HEALTH UNIT RE-DESIGNATED BABY-FRIENDLY
Recommendation 10 of the RNAO Breastfeeding Best Practice Guidelines advises "practice settings/organizations should work towards Baby-Friendly Initiative designation as part of a comprehensive plan towards improving breastfeeding outcomes."
In June of 2011, the Health Unit was successfully re-designated as "Baby-Friendly" by the Breastfeeding Committee for Canada. As a result, the Health Unit has successfully completed Recommendation 10.
