Prenatal Resources
For families planning on having a baby in their future, or a woman who is presently pregnant, provincial pamphlets on Integrated Prenatal Screening (IPS), First Trimester Screening (FTS), and Maternal Serum Screening (MSS) are available online. These pamphlets discuss the various screening options available to a pregnant woman. Screening does not tell for sure whether or not your baby is healthy but can tell if you have a lower or higher chance than usual of having a baby with one of three problems: Down syndrome, trisomy 18 or open neural tube defect. This site offers the pamphlets in a variety of languages as well as other links discussing screening for pregnant women.
