Bugs and other pests, like rodents, are health hazards when they can cause serious harm or can transmit diseases to humans.
The Environmental Health program will accept insects for identification and risk assessment. Place the insect (living or dead) in a clean glass or plastic container with a lid and bring it into our main office at 999 Balmoral Street (in Thunder Bay) on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please write your contact information on the container.
If you live in a community outside Thunder Bay, please call toll-free 1-888-294-6630, ext. 5930 to speak with a public health inspector.
