Last year, the Environmental Health Department received 150 "critters" for identification and 80 complaints about pests. |
Bugs and other pests, like rodents, are health hazards when they can cause serious harm or can transmit diseases to humans.
Most pests are harmless, but if you are concerned about how any insect or animal may pose a risk to your health, call us at 625-5930 or 1-888-294-6630, ext. 5930, or click for information on ticks or spiders.
The Environmental Health Department will also accept insects for identification and risk assessment. Just place the insect (living or dead) in a clean glass or plastic container with a lid and bring it into our main office at 999 Balmoral Street, Thunder Bay, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
