
Thunder Bay Breastfeeding Coalition (BFC) view pamphlet is a non-profit organization comprised of individuals and representatives of various agencies and organizations whose goal it is to establish breastfeeding as the optimal form of infant nutrition within our community and increase the breastfeeding rate of initiation and those still breastfeeding at 12 months. In order to promote, support and protect breastfeeding the coalition identifies community needs and resources; plans and coordinates activities around these issues and provides public and professional education based on current research regarding the health, environmental, social and family benefits of breastfeeding.
Each year the Thunder Bay Breastfeeding Coalition takes an active lead in celebrating World Breastfeeding Week which is celebrated in Canada from October 1 - 7. As part of its celebration The Breastfeeding Coalition has hosted the Breastfeeding Challenge since 2003.
Breast milk is the best milk for up to 2 years and beyond ~ Babies were born to be breastfed.
