Classroom Education
Classroom education sessions are offered to target grades in elementary schools. The programs are designed to promote good oral health practices and an understanding of the prevention of dental disease.
The programs are designed to meets the needs of the Health and Physical Education Curriculum.
Education sessions are also available to special interests groups upon request.
Dental Screening
Registered Dental Hygienists (RDH) deliver the screening program to students in selected grades in all elementary schools. It consists of a quick look into the child's mouth.
Through the screening process, information and dental data are collected for the Dental Indices Survey (DIS).
Additionally, children who are in immediate need of dental treatment are identified, the parent/guardian is contacted and information is provided to them on the Children in Need of Treatment Program (CINOT).
