How to Become a Speech-Language Pathologist

A Speech-Language Pathologist holds a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. In order to be considered for the Master's program, you must have an honours undergraduate degree in your field of choice. In addition, several pre-requisite courses are typically required; these may include anatomy, physics, biology, linguistics, psychology, and statistics.

There are only two Universities in Ontario that offer English Speech-Language Pathology programs: the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario.

Program length is 2 years in Toronto, and 3 years in London (Western). Acceptance is very competitive. The University of Ottawa & Laurentian University offer French programs.

Canadian programs are also offered at the University of British Columbia, the University of Alberta, McGill University, L'Universite de Montreal (French Language)
