There are many agencies, organizations and individuals who are working hard to achieve food security in Thunder Bay and nearby communities. The FOOD ACTION NETWORK (FAN) brings many groups together to improve access to enough affordable, nutritious, safe, environmentally sustainable food for all. The purpose of this group is to create awareness, support food projects, advocate for policies that support community food security, and act as an information centre for community food security in the District of Thunder Bay. We also promote locally produced food. |

The Thunder Bay Food Charter is a set of principles that helps guide decisions, policies and collaboration for food security in our community. It was developed by FAN with community input and has been adopted by Thunder Bay City Council and the Thunder Bay District Social Services Board.
