The Resource Centre has a variety of audio-visual resources and print materials
designed to supplement the school curriculum in various subject areas including
nutrition, injury prevention, communicable diseases, sexual health, substance
abuse, dental health, physical activity, etc. If you require assistance with
selecting appropriate resources or would like further information, please
contact the librarian, Barb Murray at 625-5901.
To begin a search for resources click on “Search the library catalogue” button.
You can search in a number of ways – just enter a keyword in the search box and
you’ll retrieve all resources on that topic in the catalogue. You can then
limit this search by choosing the grade level from the drop down box. You can
also choose to use the subjects/topics provided in the drop down box and limit
by grade level. The search will provide a listing of all resources available on
this topic for this specific grade and give details on what is included in the
resource. Once you’ve decided which resource(s) you’d like to borrow, click the
box beside the resource(s) you want to request and proceed to Step 2 - Sign out
materials. Complete the information requested on the screen, click on the
submit button and the request will be sent to the librarian. If the materials
are not available for the date you have requested, you will be contacted.
Materials can be sent and returned via school board courier. Materials requested
by branch office schools will be sent directly to the teacher at their school.
The materials can be sent back directly to the health unit library or returned
to the local branch office for return to the library.
