Officials at the Thunder Bay District Health Unit have lifted the closure order for Oceanic Tattoos located at 112 East Frederica Street in the Westfort area of Thunder Bay. This was done after inspectors were able to confirm that the operator is now in full compliance with the guidelines.
“We would like to remind consumers that they are responsible to become familiar with the proper procedures, ask questions and make informed decisions about getting a tattoo,” explains Anita Lapointe, Public Health Inspector working in the Infectious Disease program at the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.
Tattoo Operators fall under the Personal Services Settings Protocol Guidelines, established by the Ontario Ministry of Health. Public Health Inspectors have jurisdiction over them in relation to infection control.
