Officials at the Thunder Bay District Health Unit and Pinewood Court have issued an enteric outbreak notice for two home areas of the long-term care facility located at the corner of Walsh Street and Grey Cres.

Restrictions on visitors and resident transfers, admissions and discharges have been implemented in the Blue Heron and Kingfisher Home Areas.

Symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea are being investigated.

Two other local facilities are under outbreak notice.  Grandview Lodge remains under outbreak restrictions for enteric symptoms that have been traced to a Norwalk virus.  Pioneer Ridge is under outbreak restrictions due to respiratory illness.  The cause of which has not yet been determined.
