The Thunder Bay District Health Unit congratulates Jessica Bouchard on being chosen to attend the first HRIDAY– SHAN (Health Related Information is Dissemination Amongst Youth -student Health Action Network) Global Youth Health Meet to be held in Delhi, India in November.
Jessica will be joining 200 youth leaders aged 14 to 17 from 40 countries for a six day workshop to sensitize them on world health issues and provide them with a platform to discuss and debate these issues as well as network with other emerging youth leaders to become agents of social change. She is one of four chosen from Canada.
Jessica is a 17 year old Grade 12 Student at PACI. She was chosen based on her work with the local Youth Action Alliance group YETI (Youth Engaged in Tobacco-free Initatives). She has been employed in this capacity with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit since its inception in October of 2005. She is also involved in the Natural Helper program at PACI and active in student council and NWOSSSA.
The Event will be taking place this November 14 to 19th.
