BOIL WATER ADVISORY NOTICE FOR THE TOWNSHIP OF NIPIGON
Due to the fire at the Nipigon Plywood Mill, there is an increased volume of water being processed at the Nipigon water treatment plant. Therefore, town officials are unable to ensure the water is properly disinfected. Until the safety of the water can be assured all water used for human consumption should be heated to a rolling boil for at least one minute.
This Boil Water Advisory will remain in effect until the Thunder Bay District Health Unit and the Ministry of the Environment are satisfied that the Township of Nipigon’s drinking water system is capable of providing a safe water supply.
