An enteric outbreak that occurred over Christmas at Bethammi Nursing Home has ended.  Admissions, discharges and transfers have resumed.  Visitors are now welcome.

There are currently no outbreaks in effect in the city or district of Thunder Bay.

Individuals are encouraged to stay home when ill and not to visit others or go to work, school,  or  daycares.
 
Handwashing is a very effective way to avoid spreading illness during this season.  Proper handwashing is done when soap is used and the soap lather stays in contact with the skin for 10-20 seconds before rinsing.
