Thursday, October 18, 2007 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit has ended the dead bird collection program for the 2007 season of West Nile virus surveillance. The Crowline will resume again in May 2008.
Two cases of West Nile virus were reported in the District of Thunder Bay during the 2007 season. One of the cases of the disease was locally acquired.
A full report including information about mosquito trapping and analysis is expected by December 2007.
