Speeders Exposed in Effort to Reduce Injuries to Young Pedestrians

May 28, 2008 - Today, Thunder Bay motorists had their driving speed exposed as they traveled through the notoriously high-speed area of Victoria Avenue and Oakwood Street. After receiving complaints from crossing guards in this area, Thunder Bay Police, in partnership with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, confronted passing motorists with their actual speeds. Crossing Guards Participate in "Good Ticket" Campaign

May 9, 2008 - Today, Thunder Bay crossing guards were recognized for their service and dedication to the protection of children as they cross busy intersections on their way to and from school. Crossing guards also announced their participation in this year’s Good Ticket Campaign, in which they will be ticketing children found wearing appropriate safety gear when cycling, skateboarding or riding a scooter.
