August 7, 2008 - The swimming advisory for Chippewa Main Beach that began on July 29, 2008, has been lifted.
Water quality tests indicate bacteria levels are now at acceptable levels for swimming. All other beaches in the City and District monitored by the Health Unit are open, at this time.
Public Health Inspectors regularly test beaches in the District of Thunder Bay from mid June to the end of August. Updates of beach water quality can be found on the Health Unit website at tbdhu.com.
