February 1, 2008 - The respiratory outbreak at Bethammi Nursing Home has ended. Visitors are now welcomed and admissions, discharges, and transfers have resumed.
A respiratory outbreak at Grandview Lodge has been declared. All visitation, admissions, transfers, and discharges have been suspended until further notice.
Respiratory outbreaks are also in effect at Versa Care, Pinewood Court and Hogarth Riverview Manor.
The Health Unit reminds you to prevent getting and spreading infections by:
- washing your hands frequently for at least 15 seconds with soap and warm water, or by using a hand sanitizer;
- sneezing and coughing into your sleeve (not your hands); and
- staying at home if you are ill to avoid spreading infections to others.
