Youth Action Alliances Call for "Flavour...Gone"
July 24 - Five youth from Thunder Bay have traveled to Winnipeg to participate in tobacco advocacy efforts calling for a ban on flavoured tobacco products, which they feel are being marketed directly at youth. These Thunder Bay youth joined others from Northwestern Ontario’s Youth Action Alliance (NWYAA) who announced today the launch of "Flavour…Gone!" a youth-led campaign for changes to the federal Tobacco Act. No Charges Laid Under New Tobacco Law
July 21 - As of Saturday, July 15th, 2008, there have been no charges laid under the Province of Ontario’s new legislation prohibiting the display of tobacco products prior to sale. Inspection results show a 99.9% compliance rate, with only minor modifications required in a few locations. Read more >>
