March 31, 2008 - The enteric outbreak at Pioneer Ridge is now over. All visitation, admissions, discharges and transfers have resumed.

However, to prevent further outbreaks, facility management requests that those who have been ill or who are not feeling well wait at least 48 hours after recovering from illness before visiting the facility.

The Health Unit reminds the public to prevent getting and spreading infections by:

• washing your hands frequently, for at least 15 seconds with soap and warm water, or by using a hand sanitizer;
• coughing and sneezing into your sleeve (not your hands); and
• staying at home if you areill to avoid spreading infections to others.
