Increase in Cases of Pneumococcal Disease

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is investigating an increase in cases of pneumoccoal disease in Thunder Bay and District. The disease is caused by a common type of bacteria called pneumococcus. These bacteria can cause illnesses ranging from ear infections to pneumonia, meningitis and blood infections. Read more >>
