October 2, 2008 - Ontario public health officials are looking for 27 passengers who travelled on a bus from Toronto to Windsor with a passenger who has infectious tuberculosis (TB). The infectious form of TB is a lung infection. The TB germs may spread to others in close contact through coughing and sneezing.
The Health Unit is looking for people travelling on Greyhound trip #0367. The bus left Toronto at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, heading for Detroit. After a 2:35pm stop in London, nine more people got on the bus. The bus stopped in Windsor at 5:05 p.m. where the 27 riders got off.
If you are one of the 27 who got off the bus in Windsor on August 31st at 5:05pm, it is important that you contact the Health Unit. The risk is very low, but it is important that you talk to a Public Health Nurse and find out how you can be tested for TB.
