Beach Advisory - Sunnyside at Boulevard Lake

August 19, 2009 - The Health Unit has placed Sunnyside beach at Boulevard Lake under a swimming advisory.

Water quality tests indicate higher than acceptable E. coli bacteria levels. High E. coli levels pose possible risks to bathers. These risks include a variety of skin, eye, nose and throat infections, and stomach illnesses.

Warning signs about the hazards of swimming are being posted by the City.

Public Health Inspectors regularly test beaches in the District of Thunder Bay from mid June to the end of August. Updates of beach water quality can be found on the Health Unit website at tbdhu.com/eh.
