January 30, 2010 - Officials at the Health Unit and Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre have declared an outbreak of gastrointestinal illness. The outbreak affects UNIT 2C only. 

Visitor limitations are in place. For further information call the facility.

To prevent further outbreaks, the Health Unit and facility management request that those who have been ill or who are not feeling well wait until they have recovered before visiting to avoid spreading infections to those most vulnerable.

The Health Unit reminds the public to prevent getting and spreading infections by:

• washing your hands frequently, for at least 15 seconds with soap and warm water, or by using a hand sanitizer.
• staying at home if you are ill to avoid spreading infections to others.
