The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is a member of the Caregiver Support Committee (CSC).
We are a group of approximately 18 organizations and agencies that meet on a regular basis to formulate strategies that will provide information and support for caregivers.
Our goal is "to bring together community services and caregiver organizatoins committed to promoting awareness of issues and concerns regarding caregiving in the city of Thunder Bay."
A caregiver can be defined as anyone who provides ongoing care for a family member or friend with a long term illness or disability.
Objectives
Networking - multi agency representation on committees locally, provincially and nationally.
Development of Resources - pamphlets, video series, Caring Connections 1-800 line
Public Education - newspaper, information display, speakers' series, workshops

When and Where Do We Meet?
The Caregiver Support Committee meets six times a year at Health Sciences North, Lakehead University.
