Female Condom

  • To be worn by women during sex to provide protection against sexually transmitted infections (STI’s) and prevent pregnancy.
  • A soft, loose-fitting plastic condom that lines the vagina.  It has soft rings at each end. The ring at the closed end is used to put the condom inside the vagina and helps hold it in place.
  • It is made from polyurethane, not latex.
  • To be used once and then thrown out.
  • Must be used with each sex act from start to finish.

Procedure

Practice putting in the female condom a few times before you use it for sex

  1. First, squeeze the inner ring with the thumb and middle finger.
  2. Then, gently push the condom into the vagina. You will feel it move into place.
  3. Next, put your index finger inside the inner ring up as far as it goes. Do not worry. It will not get lost and it will not hurt you.
  4. Add some extra lubricant to the inside of the condom or to the penis.
  5. Guide the penis into the opening of the condom. Do not let the penis go to the side of or under the opening of the condom.
  6. When you are finished having sex, twist the outer ring and gently pull the condom out .Do this before you stand up.
