Protection: From the harmful effects of breathing second-hand smoke. The Smoke Free Ontario Act requires all public places and enclosed worksites to be smoke-free. Through education we promote smoke-free homes, cars and other enclosed private spaces.
Prevention: Taking steps to prevent children, youth, and young adults from starting to smoke or using chew tobacco. Prevention includes tobacco and health education, local youth action alliances and tobacco-industry de-normalization.
Cessation: Varying assistance offered to all age groups for those considering, starting to prepare or are ready to quit their tobacco habit.
