Epidemiologist (Full-Time Permanent) - Foundational Standards Team

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is seeking a full-time permanent Epidemiologist. 

As a member of the Foundational Standards Team, the Public Health Epidemiologist will monitor the health status of the population of the Thunder Bay District, conduct epidemiological studies for the Health Unit and assist with the planning and evaluation of the Health Unit programs. 

The Public Health Epidemiologist brings expertise in population health assessment and surveillance and epidemiological investigations to the Health Unit. Working collaboratively with Health Unit staff and management, the Epidemiologist serves as a resource by obtaining and analyzing relevant data from a variety of sources to inform program planning, decision making, and priority setting.

The Epidemiologist brings their skills in epidemiological investigation and research to support public health responses to various issues affecting the health of the population. The Epidemiologist also contributes to effective communication of population health information through a number of means to community partners and stakeholders for the benefit of the broader population.
