The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is seeking a Full-Time Permanent Manager, Healthy Living.
Reporting to the Director of Health Promotion, the Healthy Living Program Manager is responsible for supervising, administering, planning and measuring outcomes of assigned programs and services provided by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU). The portfolio includes programs and services related to healthy eating, physical activity, and worksite health, as well as the Northern Fruit and Vegetable Program and the Healthy Kids Program.
The Program Manager will use a population health approach consistent with the Ontario Public Health Standards (OPHS), consider priority populations, and ensure the quality of program service delivery adheres to applicable legislation such as the Health Protection and Promotion Act, Ministry guidelines, professional college guidelines and TBDHU policies and procedures.
A relevant Degree in Health Sciences, Health Promotion, Public Health or Administration is required (a Master’s Degree is considered an asset) and should be complemented by 3-5 years management experience (public health or health care preferred). The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement. Excellent communication, evaluation, community development, partnership building, leadership and financial management skills are critical to excel in this role. Interpreting and applying research and evidence to practice is an important component of this role.
