CMHA Mental Health Week: A Call to Be Kind

This year's Mental Health Week (from May 6-12) focused on the healing power of compassion. We all have the capacity to show kindness and be compassionate. Doing so can make an enormous difference at work, at home and everywhere. Continue to help spread the message about the power of compassion using the Canadian Mental Health Association's Compassion Toolkit. It offers a wide range of resources, including information on how to create a compassionate workplace culture. 

Upcoming Courses

  • Mental Health First Aid: K. Hunter Workplace Consulting will host a Mental Health First Aid Standard training workshop on June 19, 2024. For details, visit MHFA Standard Training - EventBrite K. Hunter
  • ASIST - Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training: Canadian Mental Health Association, Thunder Bay will be hosting ASIST training workshops in 2024. For more details, visit thunderbay.cmha.ca/programs/applied-suicide-intervention-skills-training-asist/
  • The Working Mind Training: K. Hunter Workplace Consulting will host The Working Mind training workshops through 2024. This is an evidence-based program of the Mental Health Commission of Canada designed to educate participants about mental health and reduce stigma in the workplace around mental illness. About Superior Mental Wellness @ Work 

Superior Mental Wellness @ Work is a collaborative project that aims to promote workplace environments that reduce psychological hazards and maintain positive mental health for employees in Thunder Bay and across the District. It is coordinated by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit and supported by an Advisory Group. The Advisory Group is made up of over 20 organizations from local public and private sector organizations who work together to provide the supports needed for local employees to have optimum mental wellness. Membership is open to individuals with a desire to collaborate on ways to promote mental wellness in worksites across the region. Email workplacewellness@tbdhu.com to learn more or inquire about joining the Advisory Group.
