January 18, 2023 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and St. Joseph’s Care Group confirm that the COVID-19 outbreak previously declared in Transitional Care (4 South) has now been declared over, as of January 18, 2023. All restrictions have been lifted.

The COVID-19 outbreak affecting Hospice/Palliative Care (4 North) remains in effect. All restrictions remain in place.

TBDHU has initiated a thorough assessment of the situation. Further measures will be taken as needed to manage this situation.

Respiratory Outbreak Update: Southbridge Lakehead Manor – 6th Floor

January 16, 2023 - Officials at the Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Southbridge Lakehead Manor, located at 135 Vickers St S, have declared the respiratory outbreak previously declared at Southbridge Lakehead Manor – 4th floor has been expanded to include Southbridge Lakehead Manor – 6th floor, in Thunder Bay, as of January 16, 2023.

All admissions, transfers, discharges and social activities have been cancelled on the affected units until further notice. Visitors are restricted to family members and caregivers only, so please call the facility for more information.

COVID-19 Outbreak Declared Over at Jasper Place

January 16, 2023 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and The City of Thunder Bay announce that the outbreak at Jasper Place, in Thunder Bay is now over.

Prior to the outbreak, significant measures were already in place to reduce the likelihood of transmission of the virus within the facility. Expanded precautions were implemented for the duration of the outbreak.
