TBDHU recommends the public refrain from visiting hospitals, long-term care facilities and other high risk settings when feeling unwell to avoid spreading infections to those most vulnerable and at higher risk of severe outcomes.

February 10, 2023 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit and Southbridge Pinewood, located at 2625 Walsh St. E, confirm that a respiratory outbreak has been declared at Southbridge Pinewood – Blue Heron Unit, in Thunder Bay.

February 8, 2023 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and St. Joseph’s Care Group announce that the outbreak at Hogarth Riverview Manor – Birch Grove Resident Home Area (1st floor), in Thunder Bay is now over.

Prior to the outbreak, significant measures were already in place to reduce the likelihood of transmission of the virus within the facility. Expanded precautions were implemented for the duration of the outbreak.
