January 30, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and St. Joseph’s Care Group announce that the COVID-19 outbreak at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in the Geriatric Assessment & Rehabilitative Care Program (5 North), in Thunder Bay is now over. Prior to the outbreak, significant measures were already in place to reduce the likelihood of transmission of the virus within the facility. Gastrointestinal Illness Outbreak Declared Over at Chartwell Thunder Bay - Arundel

January 30, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Chartwell Thunder Bay, confirm that the gastrointestinal illness outbreak at Chartwell Thunder Bay (Arundel St.), located at 770 Arundel St., in Thunder Bay, has been declared over. All restrictions have been lifted.

The Health Unit is urging people to stay at home and refrain from visiting hospitals and long-term care facilities when feeling unwell to avoid spreading infections to those most vulnerable: young infants and children, the elderly and those with other chronic illnesses.

January 25, 2023 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and St. Joseph’s Care Group announce that the outbreaks at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in the Medically Complex Services (2 North) and Rehabilitative Care Services (3 North), in Thunder Bay are now over.

Prior to the outbreak, significant measures were already in place to reduce the likelihood of transmission of the virus within the facility. Expanded precautions were implemented for the duration of the outbreak.
