The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is seeking a Full-Time Permanent Health Promoter in our Healthy Living Program. Reporting to the Manager of Healthy Living, the Health Promoter works as part of a multidisciplinary team to plan, develop, implement, promote, and evaluate population health initiatives focused on physical activity and healthy aging. Drawing on expertise in the determinants of health, health promotion, and community development, the Health Promoter supports programs and initiatives in alignment with the Ontario Public Health Standards. The Health Promoter collaborates with Health Promotion Planners, health unit staff, community coalitions and committees, and other professionals to identify community needs, establish priorities, and advance upstream, population-level approaches to health promotion. The role supports the development and implementation of evidence-informed strategies that address the broader determinants of health and create supportive environments for healthy aging and physical activity.
