The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is seeking a 1.0 FTE Temporary Full-time Contract (November 2026 - March 31, 2027) Program Assistant in the Healthy Babies Healthy Children (HBHC) Health Promotion division. Reporting to the Manager of HBHC, the Program Assistant provides various clerical services supporting Public Health programs. The work assignment includes supporting the Healthy Babies Healthy Children (HBHC) and Lactation Programs. Working in a busy team environment this position requires an individual who has superior communication and organizational skills. The HBHC Program Assistant is required to have data entry skills, take minutes for meetings and is responsible for preparing program resources in addition to managing health records. This position also requires excellent customer service and telephone skills including reception duties and communication with referring agencies. Experience with large databases and electronic medical records would be an asset. Working alongside another Program Assistant, daily coverage is required in the program as well as providing vacation coverage for other programs when needed as per the CUPE collective agreement.
