Measles on the Rise Globally Despite Being Preventable

As noted in a memo from Ontario's CMOH to health system partners (February 20, 2024), there is an increased risk of measles in the Americas and globally.

Travel is the biggest risk factor for our area and travel related measles cases have been identified in Ontario, with the most recent in Brant County. Please support patients in staying up-to-date with all routine vaccines, including measles, and consider in your differential, especially for those returning from recent travel outside of Canada with respiratory symptoms.
