The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is seeking a 0.5 FTE Part-time Contract (June 2026 - March 31, 2027) Program Assistant in the Health Promotion Division. Reporting to the Manager of Healthy Babies Healthy Children, the Program Assistant provides various clerical services supporting Public Health programs. Working in a fast-paced team environment, the Program Assistant provides administrative support, including data entry, meeting minutes, preparation of program resources, and management of health records. The role requires strong communication, organizational, customer service, and telephone skills, including reception duties and liaison with referring agencies. Experience with large databases and electronic medical records is an asset. Working collaboratively with another Program Assistant, the position ensures daily program coverage and provides vacation coverage for other programs as required under the CUPE collective agreement. In a multidisciplinary setting, the Program Assistant supports the daily operations and delivery of services while maintaining strict confidentiality and discretion.
