The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is seeking Full-time Contract (Nov 10, 2025 - June 8, 2027)Public Health Nurse in the Street Otreach Program.
Reporting to the Manager of Street Outreach and Harm Reduction Programs, the Public Health Nurse will provide health care and other social services to a high-risk, hard to reach population. Clients of this program often suffer with mental illness; have problematic substance use, and/or experience homelessness. You will be responsible for engaging individuals and provide direct health care services along with connecting clients to allied health care providers, housing and social services. Care will be provided in drop-in centers, homeless shelters, alleyways and streets. Working in a multi-disciplinary environment, you will have excellent knowledge of sexual health issues, infectious diseases, vaccine preventable diseases and other health and social issues that marginalized individual experience.
