Sexual Health Clinic

All sexual health services (except free condom / dental dam pickup) are currently by appointment only.

Appointments with a doctor or nurse will be done over the phone as much as possible, however, in-person appointments are also available when necessary. Any individual without an appointment to the clinic will be turned away. To set up and appointment or for any questions related to current sexual health services available, contact sexual health at (807) 625-5976.

Emergency Appointments are available for clients with urgent needs (e.g. clients experiencing STI symptoms, birth control prescriptions and refills), however, they are limited. Please call (807) 625-5976 to speak with a sexual health nurse.

Sexual health or birth control counseling Yes Phone intake appointments as much as possible. A nurse will assess the client or rebook with clinic physician as needed.
Access to free condoms, dental dams Yes Free condoms and dental dams are available for pickup in the front entrance of the health unit. If it is a warmer day (over 25 degrees), free condoms and dental dams will be available within the building at main reception. You will be screened for COVID-19 prior to entry into the building.
Birth control (pills, (prescription), Evra patch, Nuvaring, or Depo-Proversa needle) Yes Phone first for initial assessment and to schedule an appointment (if needed) with a nurse or doctor.
Birth control Pills (refill) Yes Call ahead to refill and schedule pickup time.
IUD Insertions and removals Yes Phone first for initial assessment and to schedule an appointment with a doctor.
Emergency Contraception/Plan B Yes A nurse will complete an assessment for emergency contraception order over the phone and then the client will be booked for a time to come to clinic to pick up medication.
Pregnancy testing and prenatal referrals Yes Call first to schedule appointment with a nurse
Abortion referrals Yes If pregnancy test is confirmed positive, call first to schedule an appointment with a doctor. Doctor will conduct assessment and refer as appropriate.
STI, Hep C, and HIV testing for people with symptoms or named contacts Yes Call first to complete an assessment with a nurse over the phone; then an appointment will be scheduled at the health unit for sample collection.
Regular STI Testing Not available at this time If pregnancy test is confirmed positive, call first to schedule an appointment with a doctor. Doctor will conduct assessment and refer as appropriate.
STI treatment/ prescriptions Yes Following a positive STI diagnosis, a nurse may be able to prescribe treatment right away, or you may need to schedule an appointment with the doctor for assessment and treatment.
