TBDHU recommends the public refrain from visiting hospitals, long-term care facilities and other high risk settings when feeling unwell to avoid spreading infections to those most vulnerable and at higher risk of severe outcomes.

The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks has confirmed the presence of blue-green algae in a water sample collected at Icarus Lake on July 2 2023. It is important to remember that water should be avoided whenever a blue-green algae bloom is present, and for about 2 weeks after it has dissipated.
