November 1, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is advising the public there has been a significant increase in the number of flu (influenza) cases reported in the Thunder Bay District over the past two weeks. This represents an early start to the flu season in this area.
October 27, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and St. Joseph’s Care Group announce that the outbreak at St. Joseph’s Hospital, 4th Floor, in Thunder Bay is now over. All restrictions have been lifted for both 4 North, Hospice and Palliative Care Unit and 4 South, Transitional Care Unit.
Prior to the outbreak, significant measures were already in place to reduce the likelihood of transmission of the virus within the facility. Expanded precautions were implemented for the duration of the outbreak.
October 25, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Chartwell Hilldale Retirement Residence confirm that a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the facility, in Thunder Bay. TBDHU has initiated a thorough assessment of the situation. Further measures will be taken as needed to manage this situation.
Prior to the outbreak, significant measures were already in place to reduce likelihood of transmission of the virus within the facility.

October 16, 2022 - Due to an issue with the supply of the Pfizer bivalent COVID-19 vaccine for the Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU), this vaccine will NOT be available at the CLE Coliseum clinic on Monday, October 17.
All other COVID-19 vaccine products, including the Moderna bivalent vaccine, will continue to be available at this clinic, including on Monday.
A further update on the availability of the Pfizer bivalent vaccine will be provided on Monday afternoon.
