July 6, 2022 - The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks has confirmed the presence of blue-green algae in a water sample collected at Icarus Lake on July 3 2022. It is important to remember that water should be avoided whenever a blue-green algae bloom is present, and for about 2 weeks after it has dissipated.
June 20, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and the City of Thunder Bay announce that the outbreak at Pioneer Ridge, Plaza 1, in Thunder Bay is now over.
Prior to the outbreak, significant measures were already in place to reduce the likelihood of transmission of the virus within the facility. Expanded precautions were implemented for the duration of the outbreak.
