January 8, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and St. Joseph’s Care Group confirm that the COVID-19 outbreak announced on January 6 at Hogarth Riverview Manor (HRM) in the Spruce Grove Resident Home Area has been expanded to include the Birch Resident Home Area.

The outbreak has been expanded after TBDHU identified one individual with COVID-19 in the Birch Resident Home Area and determined that the transmission had occurred at the facility. TBDHU is working with St. Joseph’s Care Group to manage the outbreak.

January 7, 2022 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 161 (one hundred sixty-one) new COVID-19 case in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 265.

January 6, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and the Ministry of the Solicitor General confirm that a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the Thunder Bay District Jail, in Thunder Bay.

This a facility-wide outbreak with twenty-four individuals identified as having COVID-19. This includes staff and inmates. TBDHU is working with the Ministry of the Solicitor General to manage this outbreak.

January 5, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and St. Joseph’s Care Group confirm that a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at Hogarth Riverview Manor (HRM), in Thunder Bay. The outbreak is restricted to the Marigold Resident Home Area (5 North).

January 5, 2022 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 58 (fifty-eight) new COVID-19 case in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 276.

January 4, 2022 - Officials at the Health Unit and Southbridge Lakehead Manor located at 135 Vickers St. S., have declared a Covid-19 Outbreak facility wide at Southbridge Lakehead Manor.

Admissions, transfers, discharges and social activities have been cancelled facility wide, until further notice. Visitors are restricted to family members and caregivers only, so please call the facility for more information.

January 4, 2022 - Officials at the Health Unit and Southbridge Pinewood located at 2625 Walsh St. E., have declared a Covid-19 Outbreak on the Sandpiper Unit at Southbridge Pinewood.
