April 5, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and St. Joseph’s Care Group announce that the outbreak at Hogarth Riverview Manor (HRM), 6 th Floor (Rose - 6 North and Tulip - 6 South Resident Home Area) in Thunder Bay is now over.
Prior to the outbreak, significant measures were already in place at HRM to reduce likelihood of transmission of the virus within the facility including participation in the COVID- 19 vaccination program for staff, residents and essential caregiver visitors. Expanded precautions were implemented for the duration of the outbreak.
April 5, 2021 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 9 (nine) new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 163.
April 4, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and St. Joseph’s Care Group confirm that an outbreak has been declared at St. Joseph’s Hospital, 1 East, in Thunder Bay.
April 3, 2021 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 26 (twenty-six) new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 183.
April 2, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and St. Joseph’s Care Group announce that the outbreak at Hogarth Riverview Manor (HRM), 5 th Floor (Marigold – 5 North and Orchid - 5 South Resident Home Area) in Thunder Bay is now over.
Prior to the outbreak, significant measures were already in place at HRM to reduce likelihood of transmission of the virus within the facility including participation in the COVID- 19 vaccination program for staff, residents and essential caregiver visitors. Expanded precautions were implemented for the duration of the outbreak.
April 2, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and The Walford Thunder Bay announce that the outbreak at the retirement home in Thunder Bay is now over.
Prior to the outbreak, significant measures were already in place at The Walford Thunder Bay to reduce likelihood of transmission of the virus within the facility. In addition, some vaccination had been administered to residents and staff prior to the outbreak being declared. Expanded precautions were implemented for the duration of the outbreak.
April 1, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) continues rolling-out the COVID-19 vaccination program in the TBDHU area. Together with our partners, we are happy to report that as of March 31, 2021:
April 1, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) will be in a shutdown, starting Saturday April 3, 2021, at 12:01 a.m., for at least 4 weeks as part of the Government of Ontario Provincewide Emergency Break Shutdown that was announced today.
This Provincewide Shutdown means the TBDHU catchment area will experience time-limited public health and workplace safety measures to control the spread of COVID-19.
