Daily update on the status of COVID-19 in the Thunder Bay District Health Unit
February 24, 2021 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 46 (forty-six) new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 304.

February 23, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Lakehead Public Schools confirm that an outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at Woodcrest Public School in Thunder Bay.
Consistent with provincial guidelines, an outbreak is declared in a school when there are two or more COVID-19 cases in students or staff that can be linked within a school setting. At this time, two additional individuals associated with the school have COVID-19. One of these individuals is deemed to have acquired the infection in the school setting.
February 23, 2021 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 41 (forty-one) new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 273.
February 22, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Lakehead Public Schools confirm that an outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at St. James Public School in Thunder Bay.
February 22, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is actively investigating an outbreak of COVID-19 associated with Musselwhite Mine located 480 kilometers north of Thunder Bay. This is being done in close collaboration with mine management and Newmont Corporation.
February 22, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board confirm that an outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at St. Martin Elementary School in Thunder Bay.
Consistent with provincial guidelines, an outbreak is declared in a school when there are two or more COVID-19 cases in students or staff that can be linked within a school setting. At this time, one additional individual associated with the school has tested positive for COVID-19. This individual is deemed to have acquired the infection in the school setting.
February 22, 2021 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 36 (thirty-six) new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 257.
February 21, 2021 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 29 (twenty-nine) new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 229.
February 20, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and The City of Thunder Bay confirm that an outbreak has been declared at Pioneer Ridge Long-Term Care Home, Area 4 only, in Thunder Bay.
February 20, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is announcing that the outbreak at the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre in Thunder Bay is now over.
Ongoing planning and work is being done with the facility and the Ministry of the Solicitor General to ensure all measures are in place to protect the staff, inmates and the community going forward.
