December 21, 2020 - Beginning Monday, December 21, 2020, Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) will change how COVID-19 cases are reported for our service area.
The daily updates that are provided will now use a different format and focus on the changes to case numbers and status since the last update. These numbers reflect the changes that are made to the TBDHU website on the Daily dashboard under Current COVID status. The detailed list of cases will no longer be provided or posted on social media.

December 18, 2020 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Southbridge Care Homes confirm that an outbreak has been declared at Southbridge Pinewood long-term care home, in Thunder Bay.
December 18, 2020 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and the Superior North Catholic District School Board confirm that the outbreak of COVID-19 at Holy Saviour Catholic School in Marathon is now over.
The period of heightened surveillance at Holy Saviour Catholic School is considered over and the impacted individuals are no longer considered to be at elevated risk. No additional cases of COVID-19 have been identified and there is no evidence of additional spread within the school setting.
