TBDHU strongly recommends that all residents avoid non-essential travel outside of Northwestern Ontario. If residents do travel for any reason, it is strongly recommended that:

November 21, 2020 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Southbridge Care Homes confirm that the outbreak at Southbridge Roseview Long-Term Care Home in Thunder Bay is now considered a facility-wide outbreak. Three residents with COVID-19 were identified through surveillance measures, including enhanced testing.

November 20, 2020 - Today, the Government of Ontario placed Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) in the “Yellow-Protect” category of the provincial COVID-19 response framework. Strengthened public health measures will come into effect in that will further help control the spread of COVID-19 in the TBDHU area. These come into effect on Monday, November 23, 2020, at 12:01 a.m.

November 18, 2020 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Southbridge Care Homes confirm that an outbreak has been declared at Southbridge Roseview long-term care home, Heritage Unit only, in Thunder Bay.
In recent testing, one staff member was found to be positive for COVID-19. At this time, no residents or other staff members have been identified as having symptoms.
