March 2, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and the Ministry of the Solicitor General confirm that a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre (male side), in Thunder Bay.

Prior to the outbreak, significant measures were already in place to reduce the likelihood of transmission of the virus within the facility. Expanded precautions were implemented for the duration of the outbreak.

Respiratory Outbreak Declared: Southbridge Roseview

March 1, 2022 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Southbridge Care Homes confirm that a respiratory outbreak (non COVID-19) has been declared at Southbridge Roseview, Primrose Unit, in Thunder Bay.

All admissions, transfers, discharges and social activities have been cancelled on the affected unit until further notice. Visitors are restricted to family members and caregivers only. Please call the facility for additional information.

February 14, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and the Chartwell Thunder Bay Retirement Residence confirm that a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the facility, in Thunder Bay.

TBDHU Further Expanding Walk In Opportunities for COVID-19 Vaccine

February 2, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is announcing that, effective February 3, 2022, anyone eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination can walk-in to the CLE Coliseum Clinic in Thunder Bay, regardless of which dose they need. This expansion of walk-in opportunities builds on the announcement from last week and now includes:

  • Anyone 18 years and over – for booster doses
  • Children 5-11 years old – for second doses

These were the only two remaining groups that still required appointments.
