January 14, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and St. Joseph’s Care Group confirm that Hogarth Riverview Manor’s Birch Grove Resident Home Area, in Thunder Bay, is no longer considered to be in outbreak.

Following further investigation, it was deemed that the Birch Grove Resident Home Area was not impacted by the outbreak that initially started in the Spruce Grove Resident Home Area.

All restrictions on Birch Grove have been removed.

January 14, 2022 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 80 (eighty) new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 356.

January 14, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and the City of Thunder Bay confirm that a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared on the first floor of Jasper Place in Thunder Bay.

This outbreak is with two individuals identified as having COVID-19. In collaboration with the City of Thunder Bay, TBDHU has initiated a thorough assessment of the situation, including enhanced surveillance and testing activities. Further measures will be taken as needed to manage this situation.

January 13, 2022 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 106 (one hundred six) new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 365.

January 12, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and St. Joseph’s Care Group confirm that a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at Hogarth Riverview Manor (HRM), Daffodil (1N) Resident Home Area, in Thunder Bay.

January 12, 2022 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 125 (one hundred twenty-five) new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 353.

January 11, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Shelter House Thunder Bay confirm that a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the facility. 

The outbreak declaration was made after TBDHU identified four individuals with COVID-19 and determined that the transmission had occurred at the facility. TBDHU is working with Shelter House Thunder Bay to manage this outbreak. 

January 11, 2022 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 93 (ninety-three) new COVID-19 case in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 310.

January 10, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and St. Joseph’s Care Group announce that the outbreak at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Geriatric Assessment & Rehabilitative Care Program (5 North), in Thunder Bay is now over.

Prior to the outbreak, significant measures were already in place to reduce the likelihood of transmission of the virus within the facility. Expanded precautions were implemented for the duration of the outbreak.
