March 2, 2021 - Today, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit’s Medical Officer of Health is issuing a Class Order under Section 22 of the Health Protection and Promotion Act. The Order is effective immediately and will remain in place until the Medical Officer of Health determines that it is no longer required.
March 2, 2021 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 40 (forty) new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 374.
March 1, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is pleased to announce that delivery and administration of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to older adults will start March 3, 2021, in Thunder Bay. The Ontario’s vaccination plan includes adults 80 years of age and older as one of the priority groups in the First Phase. TBDHU will begin this week with vaccinating those aged 85 and older, and will move to include those 80-84 years of age in the coming weeks.

February 28, 2021 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 29 (twenty-nine) new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 343.
February 27, 2021 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 26 (twenty-six) new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 335.
February 26, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board confirm that the outbreak of COVID-19 at St. Martin Elementary School in Thunder Bay is now over.
The period of heightened surveillance due to the cases announced February 10, 11 and 22 at St. Martin Elementary School is considered over. No additional cases of COVID-19 have been identified and there is no evidence of additional spread within the school setting.
February 26, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Lakehead Public Schools confirm that the outbreak of COVID-19 at Kingsway Park Public School in Thunder Bay is now over.
The period of heightened surveillance due to the recent cases at Kingsway Park Public School is considered over. No additional cases of COVID-19 have been identified and there is no evidence of additional spread within the school setting.

February 26, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is actively rolling-out the COVID-19 vaccination program in the TBDHU area. This has been in partnership with the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) and many other health care, Indigenous and community partners both in Thunder Bay and District communities. As per provincial direction, the full roll-out will take place in three phases over the coming months and through to the fall. During this time, everybody who wants the COVID-19 vaccine will be able to receive it.
