Healthy Schools

What We Do

The role of the Healthy Schools Team at the Thunder Bay District Health Unit is to work in partnership with schools and school boards throughout the District to support the success and well-being of students, staff and families in the school community. Using a comprehensive school health approach, the healthy schools team helps to support the Health and Physical education curriculum objectives outlined by the Ministry of Education by delivering curriculum linked classroom presentations, providing information and activities related to many student health topics including:

  • Healthy Eating
  • Healthy Growth and Development
  • Mental Health
  • Physical Activity
  • Safety / Injury Prevention
